Did you know that shatterproof glass was discovered by accident? In 1903, Edouard Benedictus dropped a glass test-tube on the floor, but because of the chemical it had contained inside, the glass tube broke but did not shatter. And so it is with you and me! Looking like we have it all together does not make us shatterproof. Navigating our lives to be approved of by the masses does not mean we are shatterproof. Avoiding growth or appearing perfect does not make us shatterproof. It is not what is on the outside but what is within. Because of the unassailable love of God imprinted within us—although we may break—we are shatterproof.
